Compare Club is independent and Australian-owned. Every guide, explainer and comparison we publish goes through an editorial and review process before it goes live.
These guidelines explain the principles behind that work, including what we stand for and how we make sure everything we publish is accurate, impartial and worthy of your time.
Compare Club exists to help Australian households spend less on the bills that shape their everyday lives, including health insurance, life insurance, energy, home loans and more. We also aim to make decisions that are usually confusing feel simple.
We are not owned by any big insurance group, so the guidance we publish is not shaped by any single provider. Our job is to help you find what is right for you, not to steer you toward a particular brand.
We are independent and Australian-owned. We are not part of any insurance group.
We do not sell our opinions, and we do not let the providers we compare influence what we write.
Where a provider supplies information, we check it before we rely on it, and we never publish provider-supplied material as if it were our own editorial.
We do not favour one fund, insurer, lender, or retailer over another. When we explain what is good about a product, we also explain the trade-offs.
We do not accept payment from any provider in exchange for an endorsement or a higher position in our comparisons.
Every guide is carefully checked before it is published. A writer researches the topic and lists their sources, an editor reads the draft against those sources and checks the numbers, and our compliance team reviews it against our obligations.
We only publish once each step has been signed off. You can read the full detail of how we research and fact-check in our Editorial Policy.
Our guides draw on the experience of the 300+ Australian-based consultants who help our members compare and switch their bills every day.
The writer and editor responsible for each guide are named at the top of the page, and you can read their profiles to verify their expertise.
Insurance and finance are full of complicated jargon. We clearly define technical terms the first time we use them, write in plain English and structure our guides so you can quickly find the answers you came for.
Our guides provide general information. They are written to help you understand a category, what a product does and does not include, what to look for, and what the trade-offs are. The aim of our guides is not to recommend a specific product for your specific situation. We do not provide personal financial advice.
If you would like help for your situation, you can speak to one of our consultants on 1300 11 CLUB.
We stand behind what we publish. If we make a mistake, we correct it and update the page.
If you spot something that seems wrong, please email us at corrections@compareclub.com.au. We aim to acknowledge your message within one business day and to update the affected page within five business days.
Every guide we publish is researched and written using the most current information available at the time of publication. Where figures, thresholds or rules are subject to change, we source them from official and authoritative references to give you the most accurate picture possible.
Our health insurance guides are written with key industry dates in mind, including the 1 April premium changes and the 30 June Lifetime Health Cover and Medicare Levy Surcharge deadline.
The "Updated" date at the top of a guide reflects the last time a member of our editorial team reviewed and signed off the page, not the last time we corrected a typo.
Compare Club is free for you to use. When one of our members takes out a product through us, we receive a commission from the provider. You pay the same price you would pay going directly to that provider.
That commission does not influence which products we mention or how we present them. You can find out more by reading our guide to how we make money.
