What types of cover does ClearView offer?

Nobody likes thinking about falling ill, having an accident or worse, but it’s important to be prepared if something were to happen to you. It’s all about providing a secure financial future for anyone who depends on you.

If you’ve got no dependents but not much in the way of savings, you may simply want income protection to cover your bills. Have a history of illness in your family? You may want to consider trauma (critical illness) cover. And if you have a growing family or big financial commitments like a mortgage, you might prefer the reassurance of life cover.

ClearView offers a range of flexible options, some of which you can pay for through your super

Life cover

ClearView Life Cover provides a lump sum payment that can help to pay off debts, cover everyday living expenses and assist with your dependents’ future needs.

Key features:

  • A lump sum payment if you die or are diagnosed with a terminal illness

  • Built-in benefits at no charge, including indexation, and premium suspension or premium freeze

  • An immediate expenses benefit of up to $25,000 in advance to cover things like funeral costs (only available if life cover is held outside super)

Trauma cover (Critical illness cover)

ClearView Trauma Cover gives you a lump sum for an extensive range of critical illnesses, from cancer, to dementia, to heart disease.

Key features:

  • A lump sum payment if you’re diagnosed with a specific trauma condition

  • Trauma Plus option which includes six extra conditions, including blindness in one eye and type 1 diabetes

Total permanent disability (TPD)

If you suffer a serious injury or illness, you may be forced to stop working. TPD insurance gives you one less thing to worry about.

There are different levels of cover – any occupation, own occupation, home duties and non-working. Our TPD guide has more information on how this type of cover works.

Key features:

  • One-off payment if you suffer a total and permanent disability

  • Offers a partial payment for loss of limbs and/or sight

  • Monthly premium waived while involuntarily unemployed

Income protection

Your ability to earn an income is one of your greatest assets, so it makes sense to protect it. ClearView Income Protection takes the pressure off so you can focus on getting back on your feet.

ClearView can cover up to 70% of your monthly income if you can’t work because of illness or injury. Choose between three products; Income Protection, Income Protection Flex with Extended Income Support Option or Income Protection Flex.

Key features:

  • Monthly payments to replace part of your income if you can’t work because you’re sick or injured

  •  TPD Lump Sum benefit which to cover you for a lump sum pay out if you have been on an Income Protection claim for three or more years

  • Choose a waiting period from 30 days to two years
