Originally established in 1837 as the Australian Gas Light Company, AGL is one of Australia’s oldest and largest integrated essential service providers.

They deliver gas, electricity and telecommunications services to residents, businesses and wholesale customers.

Do they offer green energy?

AGL is GreenPower accredited.

Existing customers have the opportunity to add Green Energy to their electricity plan nominating the amount of accredited green energy they’d like AGL to buy on their behalf.

This can be an additional 10%, 20% or 100% on top of their electricity bill.

Carbon neutral options are also available across AGL products.

Residential customers can add certified Carbon Neutral to their electricity plan for $1 a week and to gas plans for $0.50 a week, to support projects that help reduce emissions.

What solar plans are offered?

AGL offers solar rebates.

Eligible customers can be paid a solar feed-in tariff with any of their electricity plans.

The rate will depend on what state you are in and the size of your solar power system. 

Customers who seek the most generous solar rebates can sign up to the Solar Savers residential plan.

What residential plans are offered?

AGL Energy offers three residential plans with a range of prices available.

These prices change regularly, so make sure you compare policies to see if you’re getting a good deal before switching providers.

AGL Super Saver (electricity and gas)

AGL Super Saver offers customers low rates that won’t change for 12 months, with electricity 18% less than the Reference Price.

AGL Flexible Saver (electricity and gas)

Solar Savers (electricity only)

AGL’s Solar Savers plan allows you to take advantage of their highest solar feed-in tariff for solar panels under 10kw.

How can people pay for their bill?

You can pay your bill through the AGL app, online through My Account, set up Direct Debit, through BPAY and PayPal.

You can also choose to pay in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments rather than quarterly.

Customers can also pay through SMS, Centrepay (Centrelink recipients), as well as through mail and via Australia Post.

What rewards does AGL offer?

All AGL residential customers are able to register for AGL rewards, giving them access to rewards and discounts across shopping, food, groceries and experiences.

AGL energy customers will also receive a discount on AGL’s nbn plans.
