Powerdirect has been supplying Australian households and businesses with electricity for over 20 years.

It was purchased from the Queensland Government by AGL in 2007.

Residential and business electricity plans are available over the phone only.

Powerdirect offers solar feed-in tariffs and carbon neutral electricity, which might suit people who want green energy.

Where does Powerdirect operate?

Powerdirect at the time of writing offers electricity only plans in NSW, Queensland and South Australia.

There are currently no plans available in the ACT, Western Australia, Tasmania or the Northern Territory.

Does Powerdirect offer green energy?

Powerdirect offers GreenPower to residential and business customers.

People can choose how much green energy they’d like – Green Direct 10%, Green Direct 50% and Green Direct 100%.

For $4 a week you can also opt in to receive carbon neutral electricity, certified by Climate Active.

Does Powerdirect offer solar rebates?

Solar energy is available on business plans, with rates based on which state you live or work in.

What residential energy plans does Powerdirect offer?

Powerdirect only offer one residential plan for customers, which you can see below.

Rate Saver (NSW, VIC, QLD, SA)

This is a fixed rate electricity plan for a period of 12 months.

Does Powerdirect offer business plans?

Powerdirect offers plans with solutions for multi-site businesses. 

Carbon Neutral plans are also available for businesses for just $4 a week as you can opt into carbon neutral electricity certified by Climate Active.

Ways to pay your bills

You can pay your bills through direct debit, or online using your credit card, BPAY and PayPal.

You can also pay in person at Australia Post and Centrelink or over the phone.

Centrepay is available as well.

To spread your payments, you can choose Bill Smoothing, where you pay equal instalments weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Powerdirect doesn’t currently offer a rewards program.
